Armstrong Warranty Documents

  • 1. How does this change in warranty affect units that are already in the distributor's warehouse?
A: The new warranty does not supersede the existing warranty document that was packed in the unit. This warranty certificate is the governing document.

    2. Are R22 systems covered?
A: Yes, all parts except the compressor would be covered by the new warranty if all other requirements are met. Compressors for all R22 units are now covered only for 5 years. If a homeowner installs an LE R22 unit and elects to register online for the extended 10-year parts warranty, they will relinquish the current 10-year warranty on that compressor (for units currently in inventory with the previous warranty certificate packed with it.)

    3. When does this warranty start, and how can I tell which warranty was shipped with the unit?
A: The extended warranty is available by registration on all products installed after 10/03/08 as long as stated requirements are met. The primary indicator of which warranty document was shipped with the unit will be the unit serial number. Likely, the new warranty literature will go into production around 11/8/08. We will be using a sticker outside of the box for a quick visual to indicate that the new warranty literature is packed with the unit. This sticker will be in production for approximately 6 months to help our distributors and dealers purge older product inventory. We will also track those serial number cut-off dates and publish these when available. The extension to 10-year parts and limited lifetime heat exchanger warranty (if available) will apply only if registered and all other requirements are met.

    4. How do I register?
A: All registration must be done online, and can be accessed at www.alliedair.com. The registration link is on the lower right hand corner of the page. We are developing a primary website for registrations that will include more automation, but the current registration form can be used, and will be confirmed or denied via return email.

    5. Does the extended warranty cover package product?
A: Yes, all Allied Air Enterprises residential single-phase products are covered so long as all requirements are met.

    6. Can I apply this warranty to Magic Pak systems?
A: No, the extended warranty does not apply to Magic Pak products or commercial products.

    7. Can I register a furnace only, without having to install a complete system?
A: Yes, furnaces can be registered by themselves.

    8. Is it possible to mix-match indoor coils?
A: As long as the indoor coil is listed as an ARI match, then the extended warranty would be accepted for the outdoor unit. A 3rd party indoor coil would be covered by that manufacturer's warranty and not by ours.

  • In addition to your standard limited warranty, there are additional limited warranty periods. Refer to the table below. All limited warranty periods listed refer to all parts except where specified. After the first year, in the event that a gas or oil heat exchanger is no longer being manufactured by the warrantor, the warrantor will allow a credit equal to the then current wholesale price of an equivalent heat exchanger towards the purchase of a new Armstrong gas or oil furnace.

1 Limited lifetime warranty applies to the original owner in private owner occupied residences. All other applications or when residence is sold carry a 20-year limited warranty from the date of installation, subject to proof of purchase.

2 Primary and secondary heat exchangers are covered by limited lifetime warranty, unless specified otherwise.

3 The provisions of the Beckett Burner warranty are 12 months from the date of installation, or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever date occurs first for the following components: nozzles, Honeywell controls and White-Rodgers controls.

4 Three phase products carry a 1-year warranty on all parts.

5 Replacement cooling chassis for noted models have same warranty as new units.

6 Units produced prior to 1991 carried 5-year limited warranties on gas heat exchangers.

7 Stainless steel heat exchangers on N models carry a 20-year prorated warranty. Full credit in years 1 through 10; declining by 10% each year thereafter.
