VAD'S HISTORY

2025

Virginia Air and South Carolina Air rebrand to VAD HVAC Distributors with a new logo and brand identity. Allied HVAC retains its name. The Master Group logo is added to reflect the partnership.

2021

VAD joined The Master Group, Canada's largest HVACR distributor, while continuing to operate as a stand-alone U.S. company.

2018

Rebranded to unify Virginia Air, Allied HVAC, and South Carolina Air under one corporate identity.

2016

Purchased General Wholesale Distributors and rebranded the Columbia and Greenville branches as South Carolina Air.

2015

Virginia Air acquired Allied HVAC Distributors, adding four branches across Virginia.

1988 - 2008

Expanded into Chesapeake, VA, then into North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania through organic growth and the Tri-State acquisition.

1987

Ken Baker opened the first branch in Richmond, VA with 14 employees.
